The beauty queen Aishwarya Rai is originally from Mangalore, situated in Karnataka, a southern state in India. Her father, Krishnaraj Rai is a marine engineer and her mother Vrinda is an excellent writer. Her younger brother Ravi is a fast growing director.
Her mother tongue is Tulu, but she is also fluent in many other Indian languages like Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, and Kannada. She also speaks English excellently. She persuaded her studies at Mumbai. Her dream aim was to become an architect, but went in to the field of cinema. She started doing modeling in part time in her college days. In the year 1994, she participated in the Miss India contest but missed from the hands of Sushmita Sen. Later on, she participated in the Miss World contest and grabbed the title of being world’s first Miss World from India. After then, she became very busy with Bollywood. After doing few films in Tamil, she went on doing films in Bollywood and never looked back. She has also starred in some Hollywood movies.
